The goal of this project is a continuation of the ministry to the poor in our mission by providing them with foodstuff, clothing and hygiene supplies, sanitation, fuel for the winter, and help with minor home repairs. Sisters also run a daycare center for children, providing development opportunities for children living in poverty.
The war in Ukraine is causing its effects to be felt most by the poorest people in Russia. The country’s economy has collapsed, salaries are lower, and shop prices are rising. The poor do not have the funds to buy the basic necessities of life for their families. The current political situation is leading to even greater poverty, as many families have lost family members and those returning from ‘special operations’ are so physically and mentally wounded that they cannot live with their families or earn enough to support themselves.
