The fundamental objective of this project is to reduce maternal and child mortality by providing quality health care to indigenous peoples and enable them to have access to needed care and medicines. This outreach will increase the population’s confidence in our health structure and will allow Sisters to better care for poor populations, in this case indigenous peoples without financial constraints. This project will help reduce mortality, especially infant mortality, and cases of protein-energy malnutrition. The latter are among the most frequent cases in this population, with an average of 40 new cases per month. There are no other groups and facilities providing this service in the area so it is critical care for those most in need.
